Robert Shervette

Robert is a graduate of the Indiana University-Bloomington School of Law and the Georgia Institute of Technology. He has been an Attorney-Advisor with the Office of Regulations and Rulings since 2009. He has worked in the Trade and Commercial Regulations branch and the Classification branch. He is currently in the Cargo Security, Carriers and Restricted Merchandise Branch providing guidance to the field, trade, and foreign and U.S. Government agencies on issues relating to the coastwise laws. Prior to his work at CBP, Robert was a Law Clerk for the Honorable Dennis W. Dohnal at the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia in Richmond

Vice President
Emily M. Simon

Emily is an Attorney-Advisor for Regulations and Rulings in the Office of Trade, U.S. Customs and Border Protection. She works in the Commercial Trade Facilitation Division, where she is responsible for drafting binding advance rulings and other legal decisions in connection with the importation of merchandise into the United States. She also advises other government agencies and the public on the application of trade laws. Prior to her service at CBP, she counseled clients on customs matters in private practice and worked closely with companies in aerospace/defense, automotive, food/beverage, information technology, medical device and telecommunication industries. She represented clients before various government agencies and also provided guidance on developing internal controls managing international supply chains, obtaining the release of seized goods, protecting intellectual property rights, enforcing antidumping and countervailing duty orders, and other customs issues arising in litigation and under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. She earned her J.D. from the George Washington University School of Law (2004).

Secretary
Sasha Ward McNickle

Sasha is a graduate of the University of Virginia (2003) and George Mason University School of Law (2011). She joined U.S. Customs and Border Protection in 2016 and serves as an Attorney-Advisor in the Cargo Security, Carriers and Restricted Merchandise Branch providing guidance to the field, trade, and foreign and U.S. Government agencies on issues relating to the coastwise laws. Prior to joining CBP, Sasha was a law clerk to the Honorable Rossie D. Alston, Jr. at the Court of Appeals of Virginia and the Honorable Jan L. Brodie at the Fairfax County Circuit Court in Virginia. Sasha also previously worked in private practice for a Virginia insurance defense firm.

Treasurer
Sarah Curran

Sarah is a graduate of the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, the Elliot School of International Affairs, and the George Washington University School of Law. She has been an Attorney-Advisor in the Border Security Regulations Branch within Regulations and Rulings, Office of International Trade since 2016. Prior to her work at CBP, Sarah was a law clerk for the Honorable Jane A. Restani at the U.S. Court of International Trade and for the Honorable Robert N. McDonald at the Maryland Court of Appeals.
